2nd Constitutionalist Period
2ND CONSTITUTIONALIST PERIOD REFLECTIONS IN TÜRKİYE
The Second Constitutional Monarchy is the period that began with the re-announcement of the Ottoman Constitution on July 23, 1908, after being stored for 30 years, and ended with the statements made by Sultan Vahdettin of the Assembly of Deputies on April 11, 1920. During this period, parliamentary democracy, elections, political parties, military coups and dictatorships were introduced, two major wars (Balkan Wars and World War I) took place and the disintegration of the empire was witnessed.
Since the First Constitutional Monarchy did not officially end and a new constitution was not made, and changes were made to the provisions of the old constitution, it is also preserved by some historians as the second phase of a single Constitutional Monarchy period.
